monoceros blogsI finally got a go-ahead for the matrimonial candle (many thanks to Reverend Father John Lee, who arranged for this), and I sent a huge "yes, thank you" to Michigan's MFA program, which has just improved my funding. Instead of just 85% funding for my first year's tuition and registration fees, they're increasing it to 100% funding. Plus, they're increasing my first year's stipend by $3000. I'll have enough to cover my rent for the whole year. No change to my second year funding, which is 100% coverage and an already generous stipend. Thank you, Michigan!
Now I just have to cough up enough dough to pay for food, a car, shopping and subscriptions to various magazines and journals - Entertainment Weekly, InStyle, LOTR fan club mag, Victoria, Manoa, Creative Nonfiction, Ploughshares... . Oh, and I think it'll be time to renew my Michigan driver's license and my Blockbuster membership, re-activate my Amazon account (free shipping at last!) and add a new address to the address book. I'll miss wandering the aisles of Kinokuniya here, but I'll have the shelves of Ann Arbor's flagship Borders store to explore again.
Right, this post isn't the most entertaining. Result of a sleep-deprived Vanessa. Will crawl back to my bedroom now.
