Tasks for the week:
1. Write introduction for Michelle's reading.
2. Send revised story to Peter and Eileen for comments.
3. Email Aric to arrange meeting about dicussions in classroom.
4. Write (a lot more than the meagre lines I've been producing).
5. Prepare for conference with big-name writer.
6. Change engine oil.
Writing tip of the week:
Invent an opposite
What is the opposite of a kiss?
What is the opposite of green?
What is the opposite of a train?
What is the opposite of cake?
What is the opposite of a fence?
Now use both the thing and its opposite in a story, poem, or essay.

Instruction for the day (if not today, then tomorrow; and just for a day, because I'm not sure I can manage this for a week):
Don't check your e-mail today until you've written three pages.
cool tip! wrecking me brains... a welcome procrastination challenge!
Posted by: tiggie at November 9, 2004 7:18 PMinteresting questions! I'm going to ponder over it! so fun!
Posted by: dsd at November 9, 2004 7:28 PMlet me know if you come up with anything. =)
Posted by: monoceros at November 9, 2004 9:33 PMWhat is the opposite of a kiss?
-A spit. At first, I was going to go for 'a suck', then I realised that for some people, 'kiss' and 'suck are perhaps the same thing. However, you definitely don't want to spit phleghm at someone you like.
What is the opposite of green?
- Any Bush environmental policy. Or lack thereof.
- Any Bush fiscal policy. Since my Chinese name means "US Dollar" I don't appreciate the depreciation.
- The typical answer of course, would be red.
What is the opposite of a train?
- Another train going in the other direction.
What is the opposite of cake?
- I don't know. Marie Antoinette might have said, 'Bread'. Then again, that would really have taken the cake. I guess you can't have it AND eat it.
What is the opposite of a fence?
- De fence. Everyone knows that the 'de fence' is the opposite of 'a fence'.
PLEASE DON'T LAUGH... i know it's crap but heee:
for a while, friends will smile
before they become lovers and kiss
blue skies and the glow of the sun?s golden yellow
hang above the green pastures below
between stops where the train takes you
are places that remain in situ?
if jumping over the fence was a piece of cake,
the crux of life should be for the enjoyment of milkshakes?
hey van! cool answers. i especially like the last two. marie antoinette! good one there.
oh, tiggie! Just lovely. I'm storing this one in the journal.
