monoceros blogsLemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events - the movie is a little different from the books, but it retains the terrific Victorian/Gothic feel. Loved the art direction, the sets, the costumes, especially Violet Baudelaire's - fishnet sleeves and that great blue coat. Emily Browning is going to break hearts when she's older. She's probably doing this already, and she's just sixteen (fourteen when she made the movie).
Saw the trailer in the cinema yesterday. Looks cool. The youngest kid looks so cute! Looks rather Tim Burton-ish.
Posted by: dsd at December 28, 2004 7:57 PMexactly the words I used - very Tim Burton-esque. And little Sunny is great. She's one of the reasons I liked the movie. There are a few things that don't work well in the movie but Violet, Sunny, and the art direction save it for me.
