A shameless plug

The_Historian.jpg

The book cover is out! Elizabeth Kostova's debut novel, The Historian, is going to be a wonderful read. I've read parts of the work and it's excellent writing in the spirit of literary fiction, intellectual adventure, and historical and travel writing with gothic elements.

On shelves June 14th, 2005.

wow... sounds like a good adventure... Vlad... i wonder if the protagonist goes to Translyvania/Romania... golly... do you know that there's a Vlad Tepes ("Tepes" meaning "the Impaler") who lived/had refuge in the Bran Castle near Brasov -- which is a lovely castle; much too sweet to be term the Dracula's Castle... there used to be an escape route under what is now a wishing well... --- and on the way to the beautiful Carpathians. Ahhh... i want to go back to Romania again.

The protagonist certainly goes round quite a bit of Eastern Europe! "Vlad Tepes"...looks like you know a fair share of lore too, Tigs. I envy that you've been to Romania! will look for Bran Castle if I ever get near it one day!
